A short 5-kilometer walk or drive will take you to the South Beach. The Zuiderstrand is one of the most beautiful parts of The Hague. Among Hague residents, it is also known as the quiet beach. And rightly so. It is the quiet - "secret" - alternative between Scheveningen and Kijkduin, right behind the dunes, for everyone who loves the beach and the sea. Therefore, you see here mostly residents of The Hague - besides some tourists who sometimes know how to find this place as well.
Of course, at the scout center you can display all your culinary skills in our spacious semi-professional kitchen. Or you can host a cozy BBQ at our outdoor bar. If you're not a celebrity chef, or you just don't have the time to do your own catering, there's a great solution. Right next to De Eendenkooi you will find restaurant "Parkoers. You can go there for a delicious breakfast, a sumptuous brunch or a tasty lunch. Would you like to dine privately with your party? You can do that too! Reserve this early. The restaurant is very socially engaged. Parkoers offers apprenticeships to young people who are less likely to find jobs in the "normal" job market. At Parkoers, they prefer to use seasonal produce with an honest story. They work with fresh ingredients, preferably vegetables and fruits grown in the Zuiderpark.
